ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ New Homes Week Report: Seamless Transitions - Consumer insights on housing, home transitions and wellbeing
The ‘Seamless Transitions’ report is be published by the Home Builders Federation (ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡) as part of our New Homes Week activity. The report explores public perceptions of moving home, new build homes, and overall wellbeing. The research finds:
- 75% of people feel that lower household costs would make life easier.
- This rises to 83% among 25- to 44-year-olds - the group most impacted by cost-of-living pressures.
- 40% of people now believe getting on the property ladder to be a difficult task, increasing to 56% among 18- to 34-year-olds. This proportion was highest in London (47%).
- 60% of people consider moving house to be a difficult task.
- 47% say moving into a new build home that doesn’t need any work done would make moving easier.
- 54% say peace of mind cover if things go wrong would make moving home easier.
- 38% say getting financial help to move/buy a home makes a house move easier.
